Candidate Instructions 🧒

You are the FY2 working in Pyschiatry and have been taking care of Alex, a 25 year old man, who was recently admitted for an episode of psychosis.

You have been asked to start him on antipsychotic treatment but Alex does not seem to understand the information given on the medication. He keeps repeating that he will take whatever his mother recommends.

Please discuss the antipsychotic treatment with Patricia Mitchell, Alex's mother and answer any questions or concerns she may have.

You do not need to take a history or confirm the diagnosis of the psychotic episode.
